THE BISHOP'S PARTNERS IN MISSION: Responding with Generosity to a World in Need
Imagine what we are doing together...
Imagine what we are doing together...
Imagine No Malaria
We have saved 20,000 lives by raising $200,000. Our current goal: Save another 80,000 lives by raising another $800,000!
I greet you in the name of the Risen Lord, Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace, Healer of our Brokenness, and Hope of the World.
I celebrate with you that the people of the Susquehanna Conference have already made a significant impact on saving lives from the scourge of malaria!
About 600,000 deaths a year occur due to malaria, and most of these fatalities are children less than five years old. Heeding the call of Jesus to be healing and restoring agents in the world, the United Methodist Church joined the global fight against malaria, embarking upon a $75 million campaign.
Our denomination has already raised almost 70 million toward this goal. The commitment of the Susquehanna Conference has been to contribute $1 million toward this global goal. Since $10 will buy a life-saving insecticide-treated bed net or provide two anti-malaria treatments, in effect, we have committed to saving 100,000 lives and have already achieved 20% of that goal.
I ask you to reach out, reach deep in your hearts, and partner with me to save lives. Saving lives, indeed, is part of the Good News that Jesus lived out in his ministry. Can you imagine letting it be part of your ministry also?
Mission Central
We have reduced the mortgage by $200,000. Our current goal: Reduce the mortgage by another $800,000!
Mission Central represents our church in mission at its best. Two million lives are touched and served by the resources that go through Mission Central each year. Eliminating the mortgage would free up precious resources for Mission Central to be able to focus on its core mission of connecting resources with human need.
Mission Central helps our churches engage in missions by providing donated resources and materials for mission work, by partnering with churches to respond to disasters, and by providing mission education.
Mission Central, by the nature of its mission, is a partner in missions for your church and an ally for you to find resources, materials, and education to touch lives. Will you partner with me to imagine no mortgage for Mission Central so that together we can contribute our creativity and resources to help wipe out Mission Central's mortgage?
God is still calling us to imagine great things. Please prayerfully consider joining me to Imagine No Malaria, Imagine No Mortgage, and Imagine What We Can Do Together!
Thanks be to God for you. May God continue to richly bless and honor you. Amen.
